Who Says?

We all know John Mayer, young, talented songwriter/guitarist who has gained fame from his well known albums Room for Squares and his latest Continuum. Recently, he has released a new single called "Who Says" which features the same chord melodies and simple sounds of his other songs. Soothing and calm, this new song reminds me of a lot of his other work. John Mayer is one of my favorite artists.

Song: Who Says
Artist: John Mayer
Genre: Rock
Album: Battle Studies (release date November 17th)

Featured Song

This weeks featured song is World Tour by Wale featuring Jazmine Sullivan. This is the third single released by Wale in anticipation of his upcoming album "Attention: Deficit." One of the better rappers of today, though he is not as publicized. This song is one of his better songs and Sullivan gives a nice touch. The only down side is that the chorus has the same lyrics as one of Kanye West's songs.

Song: World Tour (feat. Jazmine Sullivan) by Wale
Album: (Released Nov. 3rd) Attention: Deficit
Artist: Wale
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

The Blueprint 3

Tomorrow marks the release of Jay-Z's newest album The Blueprint featuring popular artists such as J. Cole, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Alicia Keys, Young Jeezy and much more. This album is classic Jay-Z, having an older rap sound which consists of a repetitive beat. From what I listened to, it's pretty good, worth buying when it comes out. The first single released from this album was D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) and the second single was Run This Town featuring Kanye West and Rihanna. I would definitely recommend checking this album out tomorrow.

Album Only?

Recently I have been noticing that iTunes has a feature that is interesting and inconvenient, album only songs. If you purchase the entire album you will get one or a few songs not included on the actual album, and these songs cannot be purchase individually. This feature annoys me at times because some of the songs that are "album only" are quite good. I decided to purchase these albums, not only for these album only songs, but they did play a role in the purchase.
These albums are:
Here I Stand by Usher
Paper Trail by T.I.
Ready by Trey Songz

Another song to check out is Heartless by The Fray, an acoustic version of the original Heartless by Kanye West. This song is a well done remake of the original, and quite frankly better. It is worth checking out.

Song: Heartless (Swinghouse Session)
Artist: The Fray
Genre: Rock
Album: The Fray Live: iTunes Pass
(also included in this album are exclusive songs and videos only on iTunes)

Embeds

Hi Y'all

Sorry for being non-existent lately, but here are my recent picks:

A bunch of good music has been released since my last post, including Watcha Say by Jason DeRulo. This song has the classic pop sound and is enjoyable to listen to. With a steady beat with the classic break-up song lyrics, it caught my eye. Definitely worth buying. Here are some other songs I found recently:

All Eyes On Me by The Clipse feat. Keri Hilson
La la La by LMFAO
Memories by David Guetta feat. Kid Cudi
Successful by Trey Songz feat. Drake
Digital Girl (Remix) by Jamie Foxxx feat. The-Dream, Kanye West and Drake

Classics:
I Luv Your Girl by The-Dream (Remix also featuring Young Jeezy)
Where You Wanna Go by David Rush
Without Me by Eminem

Honorable Mention: Cobra Starship
Released their third album "Hot Mess" last month featuring songs with Leighton Meester and B.O.B. Their album is well written with clever lyrics and beats that flow. Every song on the album is worth listening to, infact buying it is a good investment, in fact its a great CD to listen to in the car on the way to school or work.

CD: Hot Mess
Artist: Cobra Starship
Genre: Alternative
Rating (out of 10): 9
Definitely worth checking out
